## countryside: 乡村，农村 ##

land that’s not in towns or cities and has farms and fields

The air in the countryside is a lot better than that of the city.  
乡村的空气比城市的空气好很多。

Many people grow their own food in the countryside.  
在农村，许多人自己种食物。

## farmhouse: 农舍，农庄 ##

The farmhouse was painted red and white.  
农舍被漆成红色和白色。

The farmer and his family prefer to live in a farmhouse because it is more peaceful and quiet than in the city.

## one-storey: 一层的 ##

I live in a one-storey building close to the subway.

## fully-furnished: 设施齐全的 ##

having all the usual furniture and appliances

The rent of my apartment is more expensive because this apartment is fully-furnished.  
我租的公寓比较贵，因为它设施齐全。

The house is fully-furnished and the 800 dollars’ rent includes all utilities.

# Grammar #

## country 和 countryside ##

country作“乡村”讲时，侧重指“区别于城市的乡间、乡下”。  
countryside 常用来泛指一切乡村地域或居民。

例如，

*  They are leaving the country and moving into the town.
 *  I’m going to spend this summer vacation with my grandmother in the country.
 *  I took many pictures of the Chinese countryside.
 *  The American countryside looks beautiful in fall.
